This project included the removal and replacement of the existing Air Handling Unit (AHU) serving the West Gym Natatorium. The existing AHU was originally hung from the structure, suspended over a dirt floor and required removal through the makeup air intake. A new concrete slab was installed for the replacement AHU that was set on the floor. This replacement AHU entered the basement through the same makeup air intake area well and was assembled in the basement.

Another project completed at West Gym involved the removal and replacement of the existing concrete bridge deck and handrail system leading to the main entrance. The existing bridge deck was deteriorating and needed to be replaced. The demolition and removal of the existing structure had to be coordinated with the traffic on Hwy 19 and the new concrete had to match the radius of the existing structure.
