December 2011 – MSP International Airport
Terra General Contractors will be awarded the construction for three (3) projects for the Metropolitan Airports Commission (MAC) in December 2011. The projects are the MAC 2011 Restroom Upgrade, MAC Wayfinding Signage and MAC EUFIDS & EVIDS. Terra will be working with the MAC, Architectural Alliance and Kraus Anderson (Construction Manager). The projects are scheduled to begin in early 2012.
November 2011 – Wayzata Country Club
Terra General Contractors has started work on a project in the main clubhouse at Wayzata Country Club to repair areas damaged last winter from a broken water pipe. The project includes carpet replacement, wood floor refinishing, painting of ceilings, walls and woodwork, lighting replacement and miscellaneous other repairs. Terra is working with the staff from the club. The project has started and will be completed in February 2012.
November 2011 – European Wax Centers
Terra General Contractors was selected to complete two (2) more projects for European Wax Center's new spaces in Minnetonka, MN at Ridgedale Mall and in Roseville, MN. Terra is working with WCL Architecture. The projects have started and will be completed by the end of 2011.
October 2011 - Bloomington Aquatic Center Remodel
Terra General Contractors was recently awarded a 8,000sf addition and renovation to the Bloomington Family Aquatics Center Bath House for the City of Bloomington. The project, designed by Kodet Architects, includes a complete new addition which houses the offices for first aid and the renovation includes all new men's and women's locker-rooms, offices and finishes throughout.
October 2011 - Stillwater Main Street Restroom Facility
Terra General Contractors was recently awarded the construction of the new Main Street Restroom Facility. The project was designed by Cuningham Group and overlooks the Saint Croix River in Historic Stillwater, Minnesota.
October 2011 - Minneapolis Community & Technical College
Terra General Contractors recently was awarded the remodeling of the 1st and 2nd floors in Kopp Hall at Minneapolis Community & Technical College (MCTC) in Minneapolis, MN. The project includes remodeling of executive suites and the project was designed by Bentz/Thompson/Rietow.
August 2011 – Shoemaker Hall Opens!
Terra General Contractors recently completed the Shoemaker Hall Renovation and Addition Project on the campus of Saint Cloud State University. More than $6 million in renovations were completed in fourteen (14) weeks on time for the start of Fall Semester.
North Shoemaker improvements included a new elevator tower, new furnishings, new closet storage, resurfaced hardwood floors, upgraded ventilation, plumbing and electrical systems and new energy efficient restrooms.
The remodeled lower level includes a technology center, multipurpose rooms, activity lounge and theater-style video room. Safety upgrades include card-access entry and surveillance cameras. Shoemaker Hall's north wing, built in 1915, is named for Waite A. Shoemaker, the university's seventh president. Leading the renovation team were JLG Architects or Alexandria, MN, the university departments of Residential Life and Facilities Management and Terra General Contractors of Rogers, MN.

August 2011 – The Colonnade
Terra General Contractors has been awarded the tenant improvements for CSC at The Colonnade in Golden Valley, MN. Terra also has been awarded the remodeling for the 1st, 5th and 6th floor lobbies and common corridors, spec suite and remodeling of the building maintenance office in The Colonnade. All these projects are being completed in occupied spaces. The project is scheduled to begin in July 2011 and be completed in October 2011.
August 2011 – European Wax Center
Terra General Contractors was selected to complete the tenant improvements for European Wax Center's new space in Plymouth, MN. Terra is working with WCL Architecture. The project is scheduled to begin in August 2011 and be completed in October 2011
August 2011 – Continental/UAL Integration Project
Terra General Contractors was recently selected by Continental and United Air Lines to complete the remodeling required to integrate the two (2) airlines at MSP International Airport. Terra is working with Continental/United Air Lines and Miller Dunwiddie Architecture to complete this project. The project is scheduled to begin in August 2011 and be completed September 2011.
June 2011 – MAC Terminal 1 Skyway HVAC/Flooring
Terra General Contractors will be awarded the construction for the Metropolitan Airports Commission Terminal 1 (Lindbergh) Skyway HVAC and Flooring Improvements. Terra will be working with the Architectural Alliance and Michaud Cooley Erickson. The project is scheduled to begin in July 2011 and be completed in November 2011.
June 2011 – University of Phoenix
Terra General Contractors was selected by University of Phoenix to complete the interior renovation project for their new space in St. Louis Park, MN at Metropoint, The Center for Business. The project is scheduled to begin in June 2011 and be completed in September 2011
June 2011 – Comcast 9705
Terra General Contractors was recently selected by CB Richard Ellis to complete a interior renovation and parking lot construction project for Comcast in Minnetonka, MN. Terra is working with Houwman Architects, CB Richard Ellis and Comcast to complete this multi phase project in an occupied building that will accommodate Comcast's new call center. The project is scheduled to begin in June 2011 and be completed in the first quarter of 2012.
June 2011 – Carleton Burton-Davis Addition
Terra General Contractors was recently awarded the construction of the new elevator link addition to Burton Hall and Davis Hall in Northfield, MN at Carleton College (www.carleton.edu). Terra is working with Professional Design Group (PDG) on this important project. The project is scheduled to begin in June 2011 and be completed in December 2011.
June 2011 – Terra Selected for Dugsi
Terra General Contractors was selected by Wellington Management (www.wellingtonmgt.com) to complete the interior renovation project for Dugsi Academy in Saint Paul, MN. Terra is working with Rivera Architects, Inc. to provide Dugsi Academy their home. The project is scheduled to begin in June 2011 and be completed in September 2011.
May 2011 – Metro Mold & Design
Terra General Contractors was selected by Metro Mold & Design (www.metromold.com) to complete a interior renovation project for their new production facility in Brooklyn Park, MN. Terra is working with WCL Associates to provide Metro Mold & Design their new leased facility. The project is scheduled to begin in June 2011 and be completed in September 2011.
April 2011 - Terra General Contractors Announces New Employees!
Tim Hansen - Field Assisstant at SCSU Shoemaker Hall Project - Tim recently graduated from MSU Mankato with a degree in Construction Management
Steven Abbring - Assisstant Project Manager at Rogers, MN Office - Steve is completing a one (1) year internship at Metro Transit and is a recent graduate from the U of M with a degree in Construction Management
Zack Holm - Summer Laborer at SCSU Shoemaker Hall Project - Zack is completing his sophomore year at Bemidji State University
March 2011 - Terra Awards Subcontracts on SCSU - Shoemaker Hall Addition and Remodeling
Terra received and opened the bids for thirteen (13) bid categories on the $4.8M Shoemaker Hall Project on March 13, 2011 at our offices in Rogers, MN. The bids received were within budget and all bid categories have been awarded subcontracts. The project has started on the lower level and will be complete by the opening of school in August 2011. Terra is working closely with the staff at SCSU and JLG Architects.
February 2011 - Harrington Plastic Surgery and GR8 Skin
Terra General Contractors was recently selected to complete the tenant improvements for Harrington and GR8 Skin in the West Health Facility in Plymouth, MN. The project has already started and is scheduled to be completed by the end of February 2011.
February 2011 - Metropolitan Airports Commission
The Metropolitan Airports Commisson (MAC) has awarded the contract for the MAC Energy Program - Phase 14, 15 & 16 to Terra General Contractors. Terra recently completed the Phase 12 & 13 Energy Program. Terra will be working again with the MAC, Kraus Anderson, Architectural Alliance and Michaud Cooley Erickson to provide mechanical, electrical, lighting and architectural energy improvements to Terminal 1 (Lindbergh) and Terminal 2 (Humphrey) at the Minneapolis-Saint Paul International Airport.
December 2010 - Royal Bank of Canada
CB Richard Ellis and the Royal Bank of Canada has selected Terra General Contractors to complete the Restack of floors 12, 20 and 21 at the Dain Plaza in Minneapolis, MN. Terra is working with RBC, CBRE and Walsh Bishop to develop a schedule to complete the work on this $700,000 project while the floors remain fully occupied. The work requires moving staff, demolition, re-cubing, re-carpeting and replacement of all finishes. The project is scheduled to be completed from January 2011 through June 2011.
November 2010 - Schawk!
Terra General Contractors was selected by CresaPartners and Schawk to complete a $1.6M - 30,000sf interior renovation project for their new headquarters in Minneapolis, MN. Terra is working with 20 Below Studio to provide Schawk the ability to relocate from a leased facility in Roseville, MN. The project is scheduled to begin in January 2011 and be completed in May 2011. |
