Union Congregational Church,

United Church of Christ

Elk River, MN

The Union Congregational Church, United Church of Christ was built in 1881 as the New Church of the United Christian Society of Elk River. This rehabilitation project involved functional and aesthetic improvements to the interior worship space and sacristy.
Work included refinishing the pews, replacing pew cushions, repainting walls, cleaning and re-grouting stained glass windows, installing new tiled ceiling, replacing and adding light fixtures including new chandeliers, modifying the pulpit and railings, and redesigning the casework behind the organ. The church’s history was taken into consideration and work was completed in a manner respectful of the historic character of the church.
