Tom Brown
Tom Brown/President

Tom Brown has been president of Terra General Contractors since 2005.  He joined the company to manage the development projects underway and has been instrumental in the continued growth of the company ever since.  A graduate of the University of Wisconsin – Platteville with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Construction Management, he is very involved in the Minneapolis/St. Paul development and contracting community, as well as the local community. 

Kirk Lau
Kirk Lau/Vice President

Kirk Lau joined Terra General Contractors in 2005 as V.P. of Construction Operations.  He is responsible for the estimating, scheduling, and the day to day contact with the owner and design team, along with overseeing the construction of all projects. Mr. Lau has been with the construction industry since 1978. He is a graduate of the University of Minnesota, where he earned a B.S. degree in Civil Engineering.  He also holds a B.A. degree in Microbiology.

Scott Anderson/Project Manager

Scott Anderson joined Terra General Contractors in 2008 as Vice President and Project Manager.  Scott has more than 30 years of experience in the commercial construction industry and has earned a reputation for integrity, professionalism and ingenuity. His range of construction experience includes new construction, office, retail and warehouse tenant improvements, restaurants, data/communications centers, medical facilities, clean rooms and manufacturing projects.  Scott’s extensive background in interior build-outs has enabled him to develop a superior talent for tenant improvement work.  Whether it’s TI work or new construction, Scott works closely with tenants, brokers, architects, owners and subcontractors to ensure a smooth process from initial estimating to contract approval to project close-out.

Kirk Lau
Ben Newlin/Project Manager

Ben Newlin joined Terra General Contractors in 2008 as a Project Manager.  Ben is responsible for managing projects from design through construction final completion and works with owners, architects, subcontractors and suppliers on a daily basis. 
Ben has over 10 years of construction experience as a Project Manager, Construction Manager and Owner’s Representative.  His experience ranges from health care, education, industrial, commercial, manufacturing, transportation, retail, housing, office and aviation.  Ben is a graduate from the University of Minnesota with a Bachelor of Science Degrees in both Construction Management and Architecture and has received Professional Certification in Construction Safety from OSHA.

Joel Peterson
Steve Abbring /Assistant Project Manager

Steve Abbring joined Terra General Contractors in 2011 as an Assistant Project Manager.  Steve is responsible for assisting our project managers from design through construction final completion and works with owners, architects, subcontractors and suppliers on a daily basis.  Steve is a graduate of the University of Minnesota with a Bachelor of Applied Science Degree in Construction Management and a Bachelors of Arts Degree in Business Management from Calvin College in Grand Rapids, MI.  Steve spent a year as an intern with Metro Transit in Minneapolis, MN before coming to Terra.

Joel Peterson
Tim Hansen/Assistant Project Manager

Tim Hansen joined Terra General Contractors in 2011 as an Assistant Project Manager.  Tim is responsible for assisting our project managers from design through construction final completion and works with owners, architects, subcontractors and suppliers on a daily basis.  Tim is a graduate of Minnesota State University – Mankato with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Construction Management.

Joel Peterson
Joel Peterson/Field Superintendent

Joel Peterson has worked for Terra General Contractors since 2006 and has over 15 years experience in the commercial construction industry.  Joel has provided supervision on some of our major projects.  He has experience in retail, office, industrial, aviation and education projects.  He has completed many projects with compressed schedules while maintaining a positive working relationship with the owner and consultants.

Kevin Smith/Field Superintendent

Kevin Smith joined Terra General Contractors in 2008.  With more than 20 years of experience in the construction industry, Kevin has earned a reputation for quality work and professionalism.  Kevin’s extensive background as a project superintendent includes countless tenant improvement projects in both the downtown and suburban markets, as well as medical facilities, retail, manufacturing, grocery stores and educational facilities.

Mitch Hueman
Mitch Hueman/Field Superintendent

Mitch has been supervising construction projects in the commercial construction industry for more than 20 years. During this time, Mitch has supervised the completion of many different types of projects, including tenant improvements, retail, new construction, liturgical and educational. Mitch has developed a true talent for successfully coordinating all components of a project and meeting deadlines; as well as, effectively communicating with all involved parties.

Ron Stricker
Dale Bentley/Field Superintendent

  
Dale Bentley joined Terra General Contractors in 2011 after serving as a lead carpenter foreman for over 25 years. Dale has managed many different types of projects throughout the Minneapolis St. Paul area. His experience includes expertise in new construction and tenant improvement projects including medical manufacturing, office, educational, healthcare and industrial. Dale also provides us the ability to self perform miscellaneous demolition, carpentry and hardware installation.

Ron Stricker
Roger Oxborough/Field Superintendent

Roger Oxborough joined Terra General Contractors in 2010.    
Roger has more than 25 years of experience in the construction industry and has a background as a project superintendent on many different project types in both new construction and remodeling. He has worked extensively in the tenant improvement markets in the Minneapolis – St. Paul area and also provides carpentry and general labor for Terra on their projects as well.

Ron Stricker
Ron Stricker/Office Manager

Ron Stricker has been with Terra General Contractors since March 2006.   
He is responsible for all accounts payable, accounts receivable and other accounting needs of our company.  He joined the company with experience in office management, general business accounting and sales.  Ron is a graduate of Valley City State University in Valley City, North Dakota with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Business Administration. 

Sandy Schneider
Sandy Schneider/Executive Assistant

Sandy Schneider provides executive and administrative support for the company. Sandy provides administrative support for everyone in the office including accounts payable, accounts receivable, estimating, marketing, project start-up and closeout and overall project management. Sandy has an extensive background in title work and working with lending institutions that greatly assist Terra in satisfying these entities and their needs related to the processing of payments.

Jill Gall
Sue Anderson/Marketing

Sue Anderson joined Terra General Contractors in 2008 to assist with our marketing efforts and client communication.  Sue’s background includes 10 years of property management.  Sue managed the 701 Building in downtown Minneapolis and The 601 Tower at Carlson Center.  With that experience, Sue is able to offer a unique perspective in our approach to tenant improvements.
