Tom Brown has been president of Terra General Contractors, LLC since 2005.  He joined the company to manage the development projects underway and has been instrumental in the continued growth of the company ever since.  A graduate of the University of Wisconsin – Platteville with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Construction Management, he is very involved in the Minneapolis/St. Paul development and contracting community, as well as the local community. 
Tom spent the first 18 years of his career working for a large mechanical contractor in Minneapolis, directly for the Metropolitan Airports Commission and a well respected architectural firm in Minneapolis.

Kirk Lau joined Terra General Contractors, LLC in 2005 as V.P. of Construction Operations.  He is responsible for the estimating, scheduling, and the day to day contact with the owner and design team, along with overseeing the construction of all projects. Mr. Lau has been with the construction industry since 1978. Previously Kirk worked at Gopher State Contractors in Rice, MN and CM Construction in Burnsville, MN.  He is a graduate of the University of Minnesota, where he earned a B.S. degree in Civil Engineering.  He also holds a B.A. degree in Microbiology.

Scott Anderson joined Terra General Contractors in 2008 as Vice President and Project Manager.  Scott has more than 30 years of experience in the commercial construction industry and has earned a reputation for integrity, professionalism and ingenuity. His range of construction experience includes new construction, office, retail and warehouse tenant improvements, restaurants, data/communications centers, medical facilities, clean rooms and manufacturing projects.  Scott’s extensive background in interior build-outs has enabled him to develop a superior talent for tenant improvement work.  Whether it’s TI work or new construction, Scott works closely with tenants, brokers, architects, owners and subcontractors to ensure a smooth process from initial estimating to contract approval to project close-out.

Ben Newlin joined Terra General Contractors, LLC in 2008 as a Project Manager.  Ben is responsible for managing projects from design through construction final completion and works with owners, architects, subcontractors and suppliers on a daily basis. 
Ben has over 10 years of construction experience as a Project Manager, Construction Manager and Owner’s Representative.  His experience ranges from health care, education, industrial, commercial, manufacturing, transportation, retail, housing, office and aviation.  Ben is a graduate from the University of Minnesota with a Bachelor of Science Degrees in both Construction Management and Architecture and has received Professional Certification in Construction Safety from OSHA.  He is currently a member of the Minnesota Construction Association (MCA) and the Construction Management Association of America (CMAA).

Wayne Elam, Vice President of Business Development, is responsible for expanding Terra’s client base, developing client relations and working to expand business opportunities.
Wayne graduated from St. Cloud State Univ. with a marketing degree with an aviation minor. Before joining the Terra team, Wayne served as Vice President of Business Development for a MN general contractor and previous to that was Director of Business Development for a national contractor which had several U. S. offices.  He has a real estate broker’s license with a background in commercial real estate.
Wayne & his wife Susan live in Litchfield, MN.  They love to travel with a recent acquired hobby of sailing.  They have two grown sons.  Tim & Megan with granddaughter Lauren, live in Indianapolis; Joseph is finishing a landscape design degree at the U of M.
Wayne is very active with the Wright County Economic Development Partnership and the Wright County Community Health Foundation.

Ron Stricker has been with Terra General Contractors, LLC since March 2006.   
He is responsible for all accounts payable, accounts receivable and other accounting needs of our company.  He joined the company with experience in office management, general business accounting and sales.  Ron is a graduate of Valley City State University in Valley City, North Dakota with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Business Administration.  Ron spent most of his business career managing a family sales and distribution business in Maple Grove MN.  He has lived in the Elk River community since 1975 and has been involved with several community organizations and events.  He looks forward to building a respected presence of Terra General Contractors, LLC in the business community.

Joel Peterson has worked for Terra General Contractors, LLC since 2006. He joined the company to oversee the field operations of their various sub-contractors. Joel has provided supervision responsibilities on our major projects. Joel recently served as superintendent on the 46,000sf Best Buy in Rogers, MN; the 29,000sf EDCO distribution facility in Otsego, MN and is currently supervising the construction on Cretex Companies remodeling at their headquarters in Elk River, MN.

Brian Reichert has been with Terra General Contractors since September 2006. Brian served as the superintendent on the 31,000sf Lanes Economart Grocery in Zimmerman, MN. Since completion of the Lanes project, he has completed all tenant improvements in this retail center, managed the construction of the remodeling of Union Congregational Church sanctuary and is currently serving as the superintendent on the 11,000sf Fremont Place and Dunn Bros Coffee in Zimmerman, MN.

Kevin Smith joined Terra General Contractors in 2008.  With more than 15 years of experience in the construction industry, Kevin has earned a reputation for quality work and professionalism.  Kevin’s extensive background as a project superintendent includes countless tenant improvement projects in both the downtown and suburban markets, as well as medical facilities, retail, manufacturing, grocery stores and educational facilities.

Sandy Schneider joined Terra General Contractors, LLC in May of 2005 to provide executive and administrative support for the company.  Having been employed with county government, various abstract and title agencies and financial institutions; Sandy brings 23 years experience in Land Developing, Land Records Management, Abstracting, Governmental Agencies and Commercial, Real Estate and Agricultural lending to help provide the daily management duties for the company’s continual growth.

Jill Gall joined Terra General Contractors in 2006 part-time to assist with administration duties on a variety of construction projects.  In addition to handling receptionist duties at Terra, Jill prepares subcontracts, compliance O&M manuals and provides data entry along with other necessary clerical duties needed for the company’s daily activity.

Sue Anderson joined Terra General Contractors in 2008 to assist with our marketing efforts and client communication.  Sue’s background includes 10 years of property management.  Sue managed the 701 Building in downtown Minneapolis and The 601 Tower at Carlson Center.  With that experience, Sue is able to offer a unique perspective in our approach to tenant improvements.

Sue will also be working on website content and other marketing related initiatives.
